The role of light screen agent is like setting a barrier between the polymer and light radiation, so that the light can not be directly radiated to the inside of the polymer, can make the inside of the polymer from ultraviolet harm, thus effectively inhibiting photooxidation degradation. This is different to be able to shade or reflect ultraviolet material, so that the light can not penetrate into the interior of the polymer, thus playing the role of protection of the polymer. There are inorganic pigments such as carbon black, titanium oxide and organic pigments such as phthalocyanine blue and phthalocyanine green, among which carbon black has the best shielding effect.
Ultraviolet absorber 328 can strongly absorb the polymer sensitive ultraviolet light, and can convert the energy into the form of harmless heat release. Ultraviolet absorber 328 can effectively absorb ultraviolet light with the wavelength of 290~400nm, but rarely absorbs visible light. It has good thermal stability and photostability. Ultraviolet absorbent is a kind of organic compounds that can selectively and strongly absorb the ultraviolet rays of sunlight which are harmful to polymers and have high light tolerance. Quenching agent is a kind of light stabilizer which can effectively transfer the energy of excited state of photosensitive chromophore in polymer and dissipate it in a harmless form so that the polymer can avoid photodegradation reaction. Free radical trapping agents cut off the automatic oxidation chain reaction by trapping and scavenging free radicals.
